Welcome!

If you are pregnant or recently had a baby you are entering a new developmental stage of life. Everything is impacted including your relationships, your finances, your free time, and most of all, your identity. Adapting to all of these changes can be overwhelming.

My goal is to offer support to women and men who are entering into this new stage of life.  Support at any stage including preconception, pregnancy, and at any time during parenthood is beneficial to the whole family.  Making the environment in which infants and children live as positive as possible is an important goal for all parents, physicians, teachers, and community leaders. In addition to the changes felt emotionally and physically, there are significant role transitions that may affect the satisfaction you or your partner may feel. These adaptions to life with a new infant can trouble even the most solid relationships.  I welcome individuals and couples to address these changes in a supportive, understanding atmosphere.

For those women who are pregnant or recently have had a baby and are concerned about the feelings they are having that interfere with everyday living -- anxiety, sleeplessness, crying, panic, guilt, not feeling bonded to the baby, scary thoughts about themselves or the baby, sadness, or physical symptoms -- proper assessment and swift intervention are key to reduction of symptoms.  Postpartum depression/anxiety/OCD is the most common complication of childbirth and is treatable with proper intervention. This is not your fault and you are not alone.

Counseling is also available to those suffering a pregnancy related loss, have terminated a pregnancy or are having trouble becoming pregnant. Traumatic birth is also an area addressed in this practice. Dads are welcome too!
